Earth Day Poem of Sentiments

Dear Dirt,
Thank you for the corn,
the skin-blanket of life,
your belly of blood,
and rebirth.

Dear Sky,
Thank you for the storms,
the water basket of life,
your cirrus and scuds,
and the mirth.

And Dear Ocean,
Thanks for the unborn,
that sleeps in your tide,
the undiscovered,
your dark glistening secrets.

Earth,
Thank you
for your forgiveness.
