Earth Friendly Diapers: Disposable Not Cloth

Hillary Marshall
Every new parent goes through the inevitable dilemma of deciding which products they should use for their new baby. The market is flooded each year with new products claiming to do extraordinary things. What many parents don't realize, is that one of the most important choices they can make is what kind of diapers they use for their new baby. With about six thousand diapers being used by one child before they are potty trained, diapers end up causing a large environmental burden. What many don't realize is that they have alternative choices to the conventional retail offerings. You are no longer forced to use cloth diapers if you wish to be environmentally friendly. You now have the option to be environmentally friendly with your diaper choice and still dispose of them when they are dirty.

Disposable
Alternative disposable diapers are on the rise. They give parents the convenience of easy use and disposal, yet still reduce the burden diapers have on the environment. Many brands of disposable alternative diapers exist, but Seventh Generation's brand seems to work well for most customers. They are made for the most part Chlorine free and are comprised of environmentally friendly materials. They are still soft, cloth like, absorbent and hypo-allergenic as with most conventional brand diapers. Seventh Generation diapers can be purchased at Whole Foods Stores nationwide and are also sold at many other health food stores. Going one step beyondSeventhSeventh Generation brand diapers is Nature Boy and Girl brand diapers. Nature Boy and Girl free, but they are also completely biodegradable. They can be purchased online at drugstore.com. Mothedrugstore.comers are popular because of their thin design and are comparable to Seventh Generation in composition. Other notable earth friendly diapers, include Earth Pure,Tushies and TenPure,Tushies

Flushable
Another Flushablelternative diapers would be the flushable diapers.flushableapers are a combination of both disposable and cloth and completely eliminate the need for a landfill. These diapers are made of a cloth diaper on the outside and use an insert that is removed, then flushed after it is soiled. Although they still have many small kinks to work out in the production of the diapers and the actual usage process, flushable diapers flushableromise. Flushable diapers Flushableunder the G Diapers brand name and can be purchased online at their website.

Regardless of what brand of diapers you ultimately choose, it is important that you know your options. Diapers, which were once thought to be the biggest plague on landfills no longer have to be thanks to these more environmentally friendly choices. Having choices is important to many parents and consumers and in todays day and agetodaysve more choices for diapers than ever before.

But flushable diapers do use a lot of water as well--which is not eco friendly. Plus G-Diapers (as everybody else except for Tushies) use ASAP (Acrylic Sodium Salt Polymer)--nothing I want next to my Baby's skin.

Great info! We cloth diaper but if we used disposables I think we'd go with the flushable G-diapers.

It looks like some of your text accidentally got cut off, but great article. Many people may not be aware of these great alternatives. :-)
