Earth, Wind and Fire and Chicago Team Up for a Summer Tour
Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire Touring 30 Cities, This Summer
If you are like us, you will certainly love bringing back those memories from long ago. Do they sound as good now as they did then? Perhaps they sound better.
Both of these great bands were formed in the late 1960's. Chicago has sold over 100 million records. Twenty five out of thirty of their records have been certified platinum.
Chicago:
It all started in that great city, uh Chicago, when a group of guys came together wanting to change the face of rock. Inspired by soul, jazz, swing, rock and perhaps other sounds, Chicago wanted to go diverse. One could see how loving this band could be so easy. Their main goal was... horns. Yes, if you listen carefully, you will notice that there are horns in all of their songs. Rock and roll... horns? This unique and diverse form of rock was formed and became a hit. Most of the band was born in Chicago and many of them grew up playing trumpet or clarinet. Most of their songs can be considered fast paced love songs, with a touch of jazzy sounding rock.
Earth, Wind and Fire:
With a touch of jazz, African and R&B, Earth, Wind and Fire heated up the platform back in the 70's. This band was probably the first (if not one of the first) bands to pave the way for pop music. They say that they are all jazz, but their music doesn't prove that to be so. It's a little deeper then that. How about some of soul, funk, gospel, blues, jazz, rock and dance to add to the mix. All that eventually became pop. The initial three members (formerly known as "Salty Peppers") formed in Chicago back in the late 60's. That is how it all began.
