Astronomers proclaim that they have found Earth-like planets that can sustain life. But what type of life are they referring to? Are the astronomer's findings about human life, artificial life or scientific sustained life on an Earth-like planet? Present and past findings have suggested that human life exist on this world alone as Genesis chapter 1, verse 2 and 3 states and clearly explains the purpose of God's law dealing with life and creation of the Earth. "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." One of the most obvious and simple things scientist and astronomers tend to forget is how old the Earth is, and how long did it take God to create this living planet.
Why did God place the Earth farther away from the Sun, Saturn, and Jupiter in this universe, surely it was not by accident how the solar system is arranged and operates in a perfect order. Gregory Laughlin an astronomer at the University of California, Santa Cruz, has analyzed data pertaining to telescopes that were used in Australia and Hawaii has revealed Earth-like planets orbiting two distant stars. There is no mention of life on any other planets according to the Bible, Genesis chapter 1; verse 10, 11 and 12 explains what the Earth is meant to be. "And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good." All of the work that God put into this living planet was made for a sustainable purpose, to support living organisms; it is as simple as that.
There may be a thousand or more Earth-like planets in this solar system and beyond, but one thing is for sure there is only one Earth, and we need to cherish and protect all of the treasures that God has given us. Astronomers and scientist search the heavens for Earth-like planets, forgetting about the paradise living beneath our very feet.
