Earthly Cherub
(dedicated to Kady Burney)
I know an earthly cherub;
My little sister of my soul;
Heavenly inspired;
By all of God's creation;
Her tenderness touches my heart;
And brings tears of joy to my eyes;
Giving without asking;
For anything in return;
Pure as a lotus flower;
Floating on a garden pond;
Her heart is an open door;
Welcoming everyone;
When she kneels at night;
I am always in her prayers;
(She is always in mine)
She is an inspiration;
To live in the present moment;
Enjoying life as only she can;
With a child-like enthusiasm;
That is delightfully contagious;
Strumming simple chords;
And stretching herself Heavenward;
Giving praise to the Lord above;
And I thank Him too;
For that sweet little cherub;
He has sent to not only to me;
But for all who know and love her;
Her song echoes in my ears;
Love, acceptance, and joy;
Hugs and sweet blessings;

Everything you have said in this piece is the truth from what I have experienced. I look forward to reading her comments every time I get an article published. Her innocence and honesty is sorely lacking in our self-centered world today, and I think the world is a better place simply because folks like her exist.
