Earthquake Cake

Enough with the boring, plain chocolate cakes! Bake up this creative cake and see for yourself how interesting and delicious it is! It will definitely get you lots of compliments and smiles.

You will need these ingredients:

1 cup chopped nuts

1 cup angel flake coconut

1 devil food cake mix

8 ounces of cream cheese

1 stick of margarine

1 box of confectioners sugar

To make this Earthquake cake, follow these steps:

(*) Preheat oven to 350.

(1) Spray a square cake baking pan with PAM or grease it with butter or margarine. Make sure you use a deep baking pan, not a sheet pan.

(2) Put the chopped nuts on the bottom of the pan.

(3) Put angel flake cocount on top of those nuts.

(4) Mix the cake mix according to the directions on the back of the box.

(5) Pour the cake mix on top of the above ingredients.

(6) Mix the cream cheese, margarine, and confectioner's sugar together.

(7) Pour that mixture on top of the cake mix.

(8) Bake 35 to 45 minutes.

This Earthquake Cake will come out looking like a chocolate cake with white swirls in it. When you bite into this unique, moist dessert, your taste buds will just melt in pleasure. You'll definitely enjoy the coconut, nutty chocolate, and cream cheese!

I think this cake would make a perfect birthday cake or for over the hill parties. I enjoy baking it for get togethers and special occassions where kids will be present - once they see this cake they will definitely want a piece!
