Ease Your Sore Throat Pain Instantly

An Easy Yoga-based Technique that Really Works!

One of my favorite natural healing books is Body Reflexology: Healing at Your Fingertips by Mildred Carter. It contains great, simple reflexology charts for the feet, ears, hands, and entire body, and is otherwise a treasure trove of practical and truly effective tips and techniques for both bodywork practitioners and people interested in managing their health naturally. Although some readers may find Ms. Carter's writing style and the inclusion of reader testimonials ( with titles such as, "A Kind Gentle Word Will Move Mountains" and, "How Reflexology Helped a Ninety-five-Year-Old with World War I Disabilities") a bit archaic, the cheesiness is easily forgiven.

In addition to the generally great information in this book, there is something that is quite revolutionary; a fabulously simple technique can actually make a mild to moderate sore throat disappear. The technique lies in the hatha yoga "Lion Posture." Ms. Carter describes and advocates the posture in its entirety, which involves getting down on the floor on hands and knees, bugged eyes, stiffened fingers, etc. While I do not want to dismiss the full benefit of the yoga position, I have found that the same benefit can be gained from a modified version of the posture, using the key component of that posture.

Here are the instructions to easing your sore throat pain: Stick out your tongue as far as possible, trying to touch the tip of it to your chin. This is an extreme stretch; when you feel you have reached full stretch capacity, stretch it further, and then even further. You should give this all you've got. You should stretch your tongue toward your chin until you nearly gag. That's it! Usually, sore throat pain will be minimized (if not removed!) immediately. Repeat this technique every half hour until signifigant improvement is gained. I have used and shared this technique for over 10 years with family, friends, and clients, with nearly 100% of people reporting moderate to complete pain relief.

It is important to note here that this technique seeks to aid only the pain of a mild to moderate sore throat, is not a cure, and a medical professional's care should still be sought as necessary. The technique is not a magic cure, but simply initiates a response in the area of the throat, bringing an extra supply of blood and healing energies.

I hope this simple technique will be as helpful to you as it has been to me over the years!
