Some people have been struggling with weight issues since childhood. That may make it harder for them to want to change because they have gotten used to being over weight and accepted the current situation. For some however, it could be a motivating factor to turn a new leaf and finally decide to take action and start to lose weight.
The first tip is to stay positive. Remember the old saying "what the mind can conceive, the body can achieve." Keep your eyes focused on the prize; a fit and good looking body, a healthier lifestyle, and improved confidence. Some may want to do "comfort eating" when they get stressed and discouraged and end up feeling guilty afterwards. Fight the urge and channel your thoughts into doing something else productive.
Next, find out why you are over weight. To find a solution to any problem, one must be able to point out the root cause of the issue. Write down questions and answers that will make it easier for you to find a weight loss program that would match your body, your genetic make up, and your lifestyle. Here are sample Q & A's that I asked myself when I decided to start to lose weight.
Q: Why am I over weight?
A: I do not eat the right kind of food and I hardly ever exercise.
Q: How determined am I to lose weight?
A: I am very determined indeed.
Q: Am I looking for an abrupt modification or a slowly but surely transformation?
A: I want a slow and steady weight loss program to make sure I don't give up easily.
It is of course so much better to wake up the next day looking like a super model. But that is impossible, even with surgery or liposuction. I want to make sure that I will not only shed weight fast, I will also be making lifestyle modifications leading to a healthier body.
Q: What will help in making sure you succeed in your goals?
A: I have to stay focused and stay inspired and practice more self restraint.
Some may need to have more questions and answers listed down to thoroughly identify the things that can help not to stray and keep on the right track to losing weight. Knowing what the real concerns are will make it easier for you to decide what to do so you can lose weight fast. Make an outline of the things that you should do and paste a picture of the perfect body that you want have beside that list. You can even make copies so you can be constantly reminded of your duties. Stick a copy on the fridge, on your desk at work, and on you bedside table so you see it all the time and feel enthusiastic each time.
