1-Eat small and frequent meals. The body protects itself when necessary. By skipping meals, the body senses "starvation mode" or "hibernation mode," hence slowing down your metabolism to conserve energy and prevent starvation. The goal is the reverse, to boost metabolism by eating 4 to 6 small meals per day.
2- Weight training is essential to boosting metabolism. Muscle burns way more calories than fat does, so building muscle is key. Every muscle cell gained participates in burning calories for you, even while you're sleep.
3-Start moving. Three times a week, 30-60 minutes of aerobic exercise should be completed; spinning, jogging, walking, running, rowing, kickboxing classes...The key is to elevate your heart rate and sustain it for the duration of your activity.
4-Stay hydrated. Drink H2O in other words. When fat is burned, toxic byproducts are released, which need to be flushed out of your body. Staying well hydrated will help that process. Also, because energy is used to warm cold water to your body's core temperature, your metabolism gets a small boost.
5-Get some shuteye. Sleeping fewer than 7.5 hours per night interrupts the hormone levels of leptin and ghrelin (your body produces these), which help regulate appetite and energy use. This, in turn, can cause an increase weight gain. GET SOME SLEEP.
