Just Between Friends sponsors regular events across the country. Saturday May 5th through Sunday May 6th JBF will be having a consignment sale at the Renton Community Center, conveniently located near Renton, Kent, Tukwila, and only a few feet away from I405 for easy driving distance for most of the greater Seattle area. For full details, check their website at http://www.jbfsale.com.

If you have ever considered selling gently worn children's clothes, instead of tossing them or handing them off to others, this is the sale for you. If you price and tag the clothing, you will receive 70% of the sale price! If that seems like too much work, just turn in the clothes for someone else to do the work and you still get 50% of the sale price! To ensure that clothing sells, on the last day of the sale everything which remains is half-off. If you have special items that you do not want to be reduce, simply mark them as such on the tag. You can have them back after the sale is over. And one more benefit, aside from the extra cash, is that those who are consigning clothes can "pre-shop" the sale on Friday before the general public.

After you sign up, don't forget to encourage your friends. If you sign up at least three people, you get a bonus 5% of your consignment sales. So instead of earning 70% you earn 75%. Or instead of earning 50% you earn 55%.

What items should I bring to sell?

Bring spring items only. If you have fall items, save them for a few more months, and bring them to the fall sale. Jeans or capris can be sold in either season. The most popular sizes are 2-10. Under 24 months the percentage drops due to the sheer volume of merchandise received, because of infant clothing received as gifts, hand me downs etc. The older sizes (12-16 ) may sell at a lower percentage as children become more selective when they near the teen and pre-teen years.

Shoes should be in near-perfect condition

Maternity clothing

Household furniture if pre-approved

Baby items such as toys, books, videos, strollers, baby equipment, nursery items, large play equipment, bedding, cribs, changing tables
Sounds great, where do I sign up?

Register with JBF (see resources below) to get a consignor id. Remember that you will need to tag your own items and bring them on hangers in order to receive the largest possible amount from your sales.

For Shoppers

Come early for best selection, or consider consigning some items so that you can pre-shop the sale. Children are welcome, but as in any public place, please supervise your children. Admission is free, and parking is plentiful. The sale is held at the Renton Community Center.
