Easter Activities in Orange County

With Easter comes egg hunts, endless crafts, and bright egg decorations. In and around the Triangle area of North Carolina there are dozens of Easter events, most with Easter egg hunts, games, and prizes. Although, egg hunts are typically divided by age. So if you have more than 3 kids this may be a job for two adults. Most hunts are for children under the age of 10 with the few exceptions of 11 and 12 year olds.

Raleigh will be holding nearly two dozen egg hunts at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4th. These would include hunts at Brier Creek, Lake Johnson, Laurel Hills and Tarboro Road. Brier Creek's Easter egg hunt starts the latest for parents out there who aren't exactly morning people. For names of other locations and or simply for information visit www.raleighnc.gov/parks.

Durham will be hosting various hunts for kids 12 and under on Saturday, April 4th at 10:30 a.m. Hunts are being held at Campus Hills Park, 502 Foster St.; 2000 S. Alston Ave.; Central Park, Forest Hills Park, 1639 University Drive; East Durham Park, 2500 E. Main St.; West Point on the Eno Park, 5101 N. Roxboro Road. The age ranges of Easter egg hunts around Durham are the widest. This is especially helpful for parents of many children. For more information visit www.durhamnc.gov/departments/parks.

In Chapel Hill there will be a spring celebration from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 4th. This event is held at Homestead Park for children ages 2-12. The celebration also includes free entertainment that will sure to keep your kids busy. Go to townhall.townofchapelhill.org/parks_&_rec/community_events for more information.

I grew up in South Carolina and moved down to Florida when I was 21, then at 31 I moved back. I love uncompetitive volleyball.. (you know like on the beach or in the pool or something).   View profile
