Easter Basket Ideas for Hard-To-Please Teens

Relevance and "Coolness" Rule when Creating Easter Baskets for Teens

Michael Crozier
Creating Easter baskets for teenagers can be easy if you keep 3 simple things in mind: first, the basket must be relevant to them and their interests now; second it must be "cool" so they can talk and brag about it and finally it must be "mature" - not something their little brother or sister would receive. Here are a few ideas.

A Music Easter Basket

Forget the bunnies and bring on the bands. Get a natural color basket from a craft store so it can be used after Easter to hold toiletries, socks or "stuff". Spray paint the basket black and white ... or wrap the handles with black and white ribbons and attach a couple of musical notes you cut out from paper. Fill the basket with CDs of your teen's favorite musical groups and iTunes gift cards. You can also include other music related gifts like iPod case, new ear phones or buds and even a book or magazine about their favorite group. Of course, you can add a few Easter Eggs decorated with musical notes of course!

The Shop Till You Drop Easter Basket

Every teen loves to hit the mall, so create an Easter "shopping basket" filled with gift cards from their favorite shops at the mall. Be sure to include cards from hot teen stores like Forever 21, Holisters, and Wet Seal. Cards from department stores and music stores work well too. Mix up the stores and the denominations of the cards the more the merrier. Once again, use a cool looking basked they can re-use after Easter. Add some Easter candy ... after all they need something to snack on while they're shopping at the mall.

The Work Out Basket

Got a teen who's into fitness, create a cool Easter basket based on a fitness theme. Instead of candy, fill the basket with power energy bars and drinks. Head bands, sweat bands, T Shirts, sweat socks and other things they can use when they work out are cool too. Instead of putting them in an basket ... buy an new gym bag and use it as your Easter basket for the goodies. Don't sit around thinking about it ... just do it!

Team Sport Basket

Paint a natural colored basket from a craft store in the colors of your Teen's favorite football, baseball or basket ball team and fill it with team sports clothing such as a jersey, cap, T Shirt, and sweats. Books about the team, posters and tickets to a game are great gifts from the Easter Bunny too.

Happy Easter!
