Easter is coming! Are you prepared? Here you will find great Easter basket ideas for the funny bone along with connecting to excellent Easter basket themes for children. We begin with the health care bill that recently passed.

Items needed would be an old basket or a new basket you can throw on the ground to give it that used appeal, one pack of gauze, one pack of band aids, a pair of scissors, cough medicine, thermometer, everything you would fill a medicine cabinet, 10 one dollar bills, white Easter wrap (tissue paper will do), a card including pen, and a large red bow. Don't forget two sheets of newspaper.

Ball up the newspaper and place on the bottom of the basket then place the gauze lightly on top. Take the one dollar bills and align on top of the gauze of the Easter basket so that the ones are visible. Place the band aids inside of the basket along with the pair of scissors, cough medicine, thermometer, and everything you would fill in a medicine cabinet.

Place the words "you are now insured" next to phone number for a local cab company and a map to mothers on a card. Place the card inside of the basket then wrap it up with white Easter wrap and attach a large red bow.

A recent fad falls with the Twilight series, a world of vampires that proves popular amongst many. But how to incorporate this idea with an Easter basket?

Items needed would be a black basket (or paint one), anything red that resembles blood, anything black, a red card including pen, a black or red silk scarf, red Easter basket wrap (left over Valentine's Day wrap will do), the latest DVD Twilight release or latest Twilight book, and a large red bow. Don't forget the two sheets of newspaper. You can purchase a small stuffed werewolf to stick inside of this basket as well.

Anything red or black could mean a deep red apple, red candy, a new container of red or black nail polish or make up, sexy black gloves, black journal, or a small red heart shaped box of dark chocolates.

Ball up the paper and place on the bottom of the black basket. Sit the silk scarf on the top of the newspaper. Fill the basket with all of the items you have collected. Write something that appeals to the Twilight fan such as "I love it when you read my mind", "You know what I'm thinking", or "Sharing some Twilight."

Place the card inside of the basket and wrap it up then top it with the large red bow. Remember that it's Easter so add "Happy Easter" to any card you plan on placing inside of an Easter basket.

ROFLOL ... well, if recent political developments are an indication, your health care Easter basket also needs a brick as a center piece. The note could read 'you are now insured and opinionated' ... or something like that.

If you were going to do an Easter Basket for the outrageously homo-erotic "New Moon" be sure to include the shirtless male action figures that they are selling in connection to that movie. Honestly now, did every shirtless werewolf have to look like he came out of an Abercrombie and Fitch Catalog? Not that I am complaining...
