Easter Celebrations and Events in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Terra Husser Farrell
There are always so many things going on during the Easter holiday it's hard to know which ones you should plan on doing and which ones you can get away with skipping. Here are some of my favorite activities to do for the holiday here in Chattanooga.

The Southern Belle Riverboat has two days worth of fun for the entire family you can plan on either going on Saturday the 11th of April to the Easter Bunny Cruise is from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. On this cruise kids from 2-12 can look forward to a magic show and visiting with the Easter Bunny as you cruise along the Tennessee river. A buffet with deli sandwiches, garnishes, moon pies, and drinks will be served. The cost is 12.00 per adult plus tax and tip and children are 8.00 plus tax and tip. Not bad for a cruise that any kid will enjoy not to mention memories that will last a life time. Make sure to make a reservation soon because seats are limited and you don't want to miss out on this kind of fun!

The Easter Lunch on the River is on April 12,2009. This fun way to celebrate starts with a lunch on the Chandelier deck which lasts for an hour and has a buffet consisting of ham, hand carved roast, fresh salads and drinks. You can look forward to an lunch before setting course on the Southern Belle Riverboat for an hour long cruise down the Tennessee river. This is definitely something that an entire family could participate and enjoy long lasting memories. The price is 25.57 for adults plus tax and tip and children are 15.46 plus tax and tip. That is an awesome deal with the bonus of not having to cook at all moms should love this. You need to make a reservation soon in order to secure your place on the cruise and for lunch. I hope this will be an experience that you will share with your family its something that we look forward to each year!

The Salvation Army in Chattanooga has a sunrise service on Easter morning at the Chattanooga National Cemetery each year. You can attend the service as the sun comes up over the city. There is no charge for this and anyone of any age can attend. Hundreds of people turn out for this service each year. You can enjoy a sermon, band and the company of others at this Easter celebration. You need to be there a little before 7:00 on April 12,2009 in order to take part in this. Its definitely something that you do not want to miss!

Along with these activities many Churches in the Chattanooga area will be having Easter egg hunts for children of all ages. Red Bank Baptist church host's one each year and anyone in the area can attend just bring a basket for the kids to place there eggs in and you will be all set. I hope to see your family at one of these events here in Chattanooga this year. Have a happy Easter!
