Easter Chi Wabbit

Susan Antonelli
My wicked, wicked owner,

Makes a fool of me.

She dresses me in costumes

For all the world to see.

At Christmas I am Santa

In red suit and a hat

She even puts a beard on me

What do you think of that?

t weddings I have been seen

Wearing a tux and tie.

I am rather mortified,

But people say "Oh my!".

Now we're doing Easter,

And she's dressed me in big ears.

All white and large and silly

No wonder I I'm in tears.

My bottom has a fluffy tail

The ears are pink inside.

No wonder I won't hop around

I just want to hide.

I will not carry a basket,

Or put out eggs to hide.

After all I am Chihuahua dog

I have a little pride!

I may help find some candy

In my rabbit ears and tail.

But if she takes a picture of me

I will certainly wail.

The neighbor dogs are howling

As she walks me down the street

At least if I am really good,

She'll reward me with a treat.

Most likely it's a done bone,

Shaped like an Easter egg.

For that I just may sit up

And do a little beg.

So if you see me, the Easter Chi bunny,

Don't fall on the ground laughing,

It's really not that funny.
