Easter Church Services in Las Vegas

Gwen Navarrete
Despite its reputation as Sin City, there are many churches in Las Vegas that will celebrate Easter Sunday with special services. No matter your faith or beliefs, you can find a special place to worship on this holiest day of Christianity.

Easter Church Services in Las Vegas: Roman Catholic

There are over 600,000 Catholics living in Las Vegas who worship at 22 churches throughout the Valley. Each church celebrates several Easter Sunday Masses starting as early as 8:00am, with the last Masses offered as late as 7:00pm.

For Las Vegas visitors, there are two Catholic Churches located near the Strip that serve the tourist population. The Guardian Angel Cathedral is located on the North end of the Strip off of Desert Inn Road near the Wynn hotel and the Shrine of the Most Holy Redeemer is located just off the south end of the Strip behind the Tropicana Hotel. Guests staying in downtown Las Vegas can celebrate Easter Sunday at either St. Bridgett's on the corner of Stewart and 14th Street or at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on South Casino Center Boulevard, just a block south of the Golden Nugget Hotel.

For a complete schedule of Easter Sunday masses, please visit the Diocese of Las Vegas website. A word of advice from this Catholic girl: no matter which church you decide to go to, please plan on arriving at least 40 minutes early if you want to get a seat. Easter is the busiest day of worship for Catholics and every service will be standing room only for late arrivals.

Easter Church Services in Las Vegas: Church of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon)

According to my friend and fellow AC Contributor Nichol Hardy, this year's Easter celebration will coincide with the Church's annual general conference. Leaders will speak throughout the weekend, focusing on Easter and what it means in the Mormon Church.

There are several Mormon churches throughout the valley, and the Las Vegas Temple is located at 827 Temple View Drive. To find local Stake and Ward locations as well as service schedules, visit the Church of Latter Day Saints website.

Easter Church Services in Las Vegas: Inter-Denominational

For those looking for a spiritual but inter-denominational service, Palm Mortuary hosts their annual Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 am. Designed to respect multiple faiths, with music provided by the Desert Chorale and other artists, the Sunrise Services will be held at both the Palm Green Valley Memorial Park located at 7600 South Eastern Avenue and at the Palm Henderson Memorial Park on 800 South Boulder Highway in Henderson.

Easter Church Services in Las Vegas: Christian Denominations

The Victory Baptist Church will celebrate Easter Sunday with two worship services at 8:00am and 11:00am at the Cashman Theatre located on 850 North Las Vegas Boulevard.
