Easter Crafts: How to Make a Jeweled Easter Egg

BS
Easter is a fun holiday for many reasons. It's a great reason to get together with your family and enjoy each other's company while celebrating the holiday. Family get-togethers, Easter eggs, bunnies, church, and fun are all part of what makes Easter such a great holiday. Easter day itself is always a great day, but the days leading up to Easter can be just as much fun. Decorating Easter eggs is always a lot of fun, and there are hundreds of different ways to do so. This Easter, try making jeweled Easter eggs. This is mostly a craft for girls, as boys probably won't be interested in making pretty, sparkly, Easter eggs, but there are lots of other options for boys when it comes to decorating Easter eggs.

Materials
-hollow eggs
-jewels
-hot glue or white glue
-glitter glue
-acrylic paint, egg dye, or food coloring (optional)

Instructions
1. First decide if you want to leave your egg white, or if you want to make it colorful. If you choose to use color to decorate your Easter egg, do this first. If you are planning on using acrylic paint, lay down some newspaper before you start. If you use egg dye or food coloring, make sure you have a place to let the egg dry before you take it out of the dye.

2. If you chose to dye or paint your Easter egg, make sure that it's dry before you move on. Now it's time to glue on the jewels. If you are using white liquid glue to attach the jewels to your Easter egg, it is best if you get jewels that have a flat side. If you are using hot glue, you can use any type of jewel, just make sure you don't let the smaller kids use the hot glue gun. Also know that if you use jewels that stick out from your Easter egg, they are likely to fall off.

3. Make sure all the jewels are securely on before moving on. When the glue on your jewels is dry, apply the glitter glue around the jewels to give it an extra sparkle. Glitter glue won't leave a mess, unlike ordinary glitter.

4. This step is also optional. The glitter glue can be used in a lot of different ways. If you put it on the Easter egg and use the tip of the tube, you can spread out the glitter on the surface of the Easter egg. This will give your Easter egg some extra shine without making it look too busy.
