Easter Crafts: How to Make a Wordy Easter Egg

How to Make an Easter Egg Using Magazine Cut Outs

BS
Easter egg decorating is always a big hit with the small children. Many families make Easter egg decorating part of their Easter tradition as something the entire family does together. That's fine when the kids are young, but when they start to get older they begin to lose interest in this fun tradition. No one is to blame, it's just teenagers being teenagers, but if you want to get them involved in the Easter egg decorating, find something that appeals to them. There are lots of fun ways to decorate Easter eggs, but not as many appeal to the teenagers, but using cutout words from their favorite magazines is sure to get them interested. This Easter egg craft is incredibly easy and a great way to get the entire family involved.

Materials
-teen magazines
-scissors
-hallow or plastic eggs
- glue
-egg dye or food coloring (optional)

Instructions
1. Dying the Easter egg is completely optional. If you are planning to cover the whole egg with the words, then there really isn't a point to dying the egg. If you think you'll have some blank spaces (as most do), then go ahead and dye the egg to make sure it's not plain. If you choose to dye your Easter egg, lay down some newspaper over your work area.

2. Before you begin gluing the words (you can also use images) from the magazines on to your Easter egg, cut them all out. Don't pick words or phrases that are too large or they will take up too much space and you won't have room for all the others. Make sure that you have enough to cover all the space you want covered. Also, plan out your layout as best as you can.

3. When you've decided the basic look of your Easter egg, you can start gluing the words onto your egg. If you are using a hallow egg, you should use liquid glue because you won't have to press as hard to get the words to stay on the Easter egg. If you are using a plastic egg or any other type you're fine with either a glue stick a liquid glue.

4. Once all your words are on your Easter egg, set it aside to dry. It can be tough to make a lot of these because you have to keep finding words or images from magazines, but if you want to make more go ahead and do so.
