Each Spring we are given the gift of new life. One of my favorites are the fuzzy ducklings swimming in ponds. Growing up, I had two pet ducks. It was fun watching them swim in the pool and walk under the sprinkler. Ducks can be hard to keep as pets. We eventually took our second duck to a local pond and set it free after the death of the first one. After the duck lost its companion it just didn't seem the same. The grieving duck beautifully portrays that animals have feelings.

Post a CommentI had several ducks this year, but only have one now as some wild animal got to the others. I hope to get more soon!
By the way, this has nothing to do with this article, but I think you look kind of like Julia Roberts. :)
Aw! Baby ducks are so cute.
Makes me wonder if ducks don't mate for life. I enjoyed it.
This writing obviously comes from the heart:)
Oh, I agree! When I was younger I had two dogs. They fought constantly as they had completely different personalities, but when the older dog died of cancer, the younger one was never the same - he seemed so lonely and so sad.
Animals do have feelings! Thanks for sharing.
It's the same with mourning doves. They mate for life. It's sad to watch the "one left behind". Great article!
