While an Easter egg hunt in your backyard is fun, hunting for eggs with animals, with a GPS unit or with motorcycles in the background raises hunting to a new level of fun. In Toledo, you can watch animals hunt for eggs at The Toledo Zoo, search for eggs at area parks or find eggs at Harley-Davidson stores.

The Toledo Zoo is hosting an Animal Egg Hunt on Friday, April 22, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Different animals hunt for eggs in their enclosures, which is an enrichment activity that stimulates natural talents and abilities not normally used in a zoo setting. After you watch the animals, take your children to make crafts and hear stories at Nature's Neighborhood children's area from noon to 2:00 PM. Admission to the zoo is $11 for adults and $8 for children age 2 to 11 and seniors over age 60. Parking is $8. The zoo is located 4 miles south of downtown Toledo on the Anthony Wayne Trail (OH 25).

Toledo Metroparks put a spin on egg hunting with a Springtime Geocashe Egg Hunt at the Buehner Center at Oak Openings Metropark (4139 Girdham Rd.) on Saturday, April 16, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Use your GPS unit to search for eggs that contain questions; answer the questions to claim your prize at the end. If you don't have a GPS unit, you can borrow one. The hunt is $3, but children under age 4 are free. Reservations are required and can be made at www.metroparksprograms.com or by calling 419-407-9701.

For Sylvania residents who want to hunt for eggs the old-fashioned way, The Olander Park System is holding their 11th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 16, at 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM and noon at Olander Park (6930 Sylvania Ave. in Sylvania). Children 11 and under and their adult guardians are invited to make a craft and then hunt for eggs that can be redeemed for treats. The hunt is divided into areas for children 5 and under, ages 6 to 8 years old and ages 9 to 11 years old. While the event is free, reservations are required because only 50 families can participate in each session. The Olander Park System is open to residents of Sylvania School District only, and you can make reservations by calling 419-882-8313.

Area Harley-Davidson stores are holding egg hunts on Saturday, April 23. Both stores will have egg hunts for children under age 10 and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Signature Harley-Davidson at 1176 Professional Dr. in Perrysburg is holding their egg hunt from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, while Toledo Harley-Davidson at 7960 W. Central Ave. in Toledo has their hunt scheduled from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Both events are free and open to the public.
