Easter Egg Money Hunt

Add Some Excitement to Your Traditional Easter Egg Hunt

Rayzelle Forrest
Every Easter there are traditions to be followed. You have to have a visit from the Easter bunny, color Easter eggs, give Easter speeches and the all time Easter favorite: Have the Easter egg hunt. Normally the Easter egg hunt is done with hard boiled brightly colored eggs but that doesn't have to be the case. This year when getting together with your family, try adding some fun and money to your Easter egg hunt and incorporate a money egg hunt along with your traditional egg hunt. My family has fallen into the tradition of the money hunt and it is now the highlight of the Easter family gathering. Everyone can't wait to see how much money each child can collect and children can't wait to collect it. The Easter egg money hunt is a great way to put a new twist on an old tradition and get kids even more excited about the egg hunt. Here is how to organize your Easter egg money hunt at your family gathering.

Inform Adult Family Members
For the Easter egg money hunt to be a success you must inform the attending adult family members about it before hand. Let them know that they need to contribute $5, $10 or have ever much money you decide on each person contributing. It's best if most of the money is collected in $1 bills. This allows you to make more money eggs. You will be able to create more Easter money eggs with five $1 dollar bills versus putting just one $5 bill in one egg. This way everyone has a greater chance to find money eggs.

Get Plastic Eggs
You will need to buy the plastic colorful Easter eggs to put the money in. These plastic eggs are fairly cheap so it won't be expensive to get a lot of them. They usually sell a dozen of them for about a dollar or so at your local store wherever they sell Easter decorations. They come in different colors and different sizes. They even have some that are silver and gold. I always use these ones for a bonus money prize.

Fill Plastic Eggs
Fill the eggs with $1, $5, $10 or whatever increments of money you want to. Again, it is always nice to make a bonus golden egg with a grand prize of one large dollar bill in it, say a $10 or $20 dollar bill. This will add even more excitement to your Easter egg money hunt. After this, all that's left to do is hide the eggs and enjoy watching the children find them. You can add them to your regular hard boiled Easter egg hunt or hide them by themselves. Either way, the children will be excited about them being a part of their Easter egg hunt.
