Easter Eggs for that Hunt, Where to Hide?

Places and Spaces to Lay an Egg

Easter egg hunts for 2011 can be creative, daring and safe. But where to hide Easter eggs for the hunt of a lifetime? Here you'll find good places and spaces to lay an egg for that Easter egg hunt.

Having an Easter egg hunt is actually a simple task. Gather plastic Easter eggs and fill them with any of these 50+ plastic egg fillers. Once you have enough Easter eggs filled it is time for location, location, location! The yard, again? How many times have you found an Easter egg on the same tree or inside of the mailbox? Do something different this Easter!

Miniature golf courses are fun places to hold a filled plastic Easter egg hunt, but how? This works best with two sets of golf groups. One set adults and the other set children supervised by an adult(s). The adults skip a course ahead of the children and supervisor. They hide the eggs for the children who are working their way through the course. Try and make sure all eggs are found.

The course, or coarse, would force a horse inside of your course if you take too long. Hiding the plastic eggs requires speed and fast thinking. Most courses come with a designed landscape, unique angled greens and a hole for the ball to fall into. Place an egg inside of the bush the kids are about to walk up to, behind a bended corner not visible until a golf ball passes that point or inside of the hole. There are many places to stick an egg along a golf course. You'll see.

Nature trails never fail. An adult can hide plastic eggs along a pathway within a wooded area with a keen eye and some string. Soon after, the children walk down the path and look for eggs. Within this choice the kids observe nature. Tie an egg with string then tie the egg to a tree branch. It is fun to watch them do a double-take. You could hide an egg under some leaves or between rocks along the path.

Parks and playgrounds offer super egg finding moments. Parks usually come with winding trails (as mentioned above), park benches, shelter for visitors, and in most cases playgrounds. All mark great locations to hold an Easter egg hunt. An adult should do a "sweep" of the location to assure safe searching before hiding any plastic Easter eggs in the park or on a playground.

Lakes are not out of the question for the little fisherman, or lady, on Easter. As the children are preparing themselves for fishing hide the plastic eggs along the water bank or closer inland. When the children begin to walk towards the lake let them know that there are Easter surprises lakeside. These plastic eggs could include fishing tackle and small bobs, weights, and so on.

Soccer fields are not just for kicks! Hide plastic eggs near soccer balls [or other balls] to indicate the egg sniffer is getting warm to the prize. But do not place the egg against the soccer ball. That's too easy! Try hiding it at least 4 feet from the soccer ball and covering the egg with a little grass.

Indoor Easter egg hunts are perfect on rainy days. Simply make the rules and mark the areas where not to enter and allow the children to do what they do best - find them.

Tips and Tricks:

Flag areas and boundaries where not to search for plastic Easter eggs is important to take note. Prevent any unfortunate situation by making yourself absolutely clear as to the Easter egg hunt boundary to each and every young ear participating.

Color coding egg system for age groups deems wise for large numbers of Easter egg hunt participants. Not every child will be the same age or from the same age group. Make sure to keep this at mind when filling the colorful plastic eggs.

Raw eggs. What can be said about raw eggs? Hide a raw egg on a child who can take a joke and watch them have a splashing time! Just do not do the egg trick on anyone who has never played a joke on another person or is well under the age for such a joke cracking moment.

Prizes are a given at most egg hunts. You could write a number on each egg and the child with the highest number wins a prize. You could write a letter on each egg and the child who makes up the most words wins a prize. Permanent marker works best when dry. You could place stickers on the eggs and the eggs with a specific stickers wins a prize.

Easter egg rolls are competitions between two or more children. Before or after egg hunts have an Easter egg roll whereas the children roll raw eggs from a starting line to the finish line. Those who cross first wins a prize filled large plastic egg.

Eggs in Easter Basket Themes:

Sometimes a plastic egg filler and color must follow the Easter basket theme. You can go with blue colored eggs with the Royal Wedding Easter basket idea, gold plastic eggs for the Donald Trump Easter basket idea or use red-orange-yellow plastic colored eggs for the Charlie Sheen Easter basket idea.

No matter what you do this Sunday make it fun and the perfect day in celebrating Easter.

Happy Easter!
