Easter Fashion Tips for Women

You Do Not Need to Be a Little Girl to Wear Easter Dresses!

Rosallee Scott
Easter is a time of rebirth, spring colors and fashion for women. Anyone can wear Easter colors and you do not have to be a little girl to enjoy girlie fashions. This article will offer advice on how to choose the perfect Easter dress in the perfect color and with the perfect accessories to embrace the "little girl" in you. It's just like playing dress-up again!

Colors: The first step in any outfit is to choose the right color for your skin tone, hair color and personality. The spring season is about pinks, blues, purples and yellows but they do not have to be pastel. There is so much information available about choosing a palette that is right for you but instead of going into all of that I would like to offer some simplified advice. Choose ones that you love, the shades that make you feel good. Every woman has a personal stand-bye, a favorite color, which she knows she looks good in. If all else fails- go with that.

Cut: The origins of Easter are actually based on the ancient Spring Goddess "Eostar". It is the perfect time to dress like one! Long flowing skirts, empire waists, angel-sleeves and shawls look good on every body type. Just remember this old fashion stand-bye: "A fluid fabric cut will flatter any figure." (Say that 5-times fast!) Just make sure your ensemble is in your actual size. If an outfit made from this type of material is too large, you'll literally be swimming in it but if you buy it too small it will bunch up in the fitted areas and not flow correctly.

Shoes: Shoes are such a personal accessory for a woman that I hate to even comment on them. Wear whatever type you will smile at when it is peaking out from underneath your skirt. Whether it is a heel, sandal or boot; just make sure that they are in the same shade range as your outfit.

Hats: Grab a sunhat and tie a ribbon that matches your dress around the brim or purchase a vintage one in a complementary color that is embellished with pearls, beads or lace. Easter is the perfect time to wear a hat, even if you usually don't. Though, I will warn those of you who are first time wearers; hats are another accessory that can be very addictive. Have a plan on how to hang a hat shelf above your shoe rack in the very near future.

Makeup: A woman's face is her most important fashion accessory. Spring to about freshness so your makeup should be natural enough to convey the same feeling when you face the beginning of everything new that the season of spring brings. Brighten your eyes, soften your lips and add a subtle glow to your cheeks. Look as if you were painted by the sunshine and fresh air.

Nails: After a harsh winter, this is also the time to get your nails, both hands and feet, back into shape. Take the time to pamper yourself with a manicure and a pedicure, whether you do at home or visit a technician. Use soft hues here as well when choosing your nail polish.

Other Accessories: Whether you wear silver or gold jewelry, the key to this outfit is simplicity. A small choker looks goods with all types of tops, whether they be straight cut or angled. A thin chain with a little charm made of metal, stone or gems looks best if it hangs just above the fabric line with any type of angle cut shirt. Earrings also should be kept simple with this ensemble. If you wear your hair up, wear dangly ones; if you wear it down choose a smaller pair that sparkles. When in doubt, I always opt for simple hoops with or without embellishments. Scarves are another great accessory that you can wear in many ways. Just make sure to choose one that compliments your outfit, not a piece that contrasts it. This look is all about "flow" and you do not want to disrupt it by adding something that draws attention away from the whole set-up.

When shopping for an Easter dress this year, embrace the "little girl" in you by choosing one that represents Goddess Spring Fashion.

Easter, a Christian festival, embodies many pre-Christian traditions. The origin of its name is unknown. Scholars, however, accepting the derivation proposed by the 8th-century English scholar St. Bede, believe it probably comes from Eastre, the Anglo-Saxon name of a Teutonic goddess of spring and fertility, to whom was dedicated a month corresponding to April. Her festival was celebrated on the day of the vernal equinox; traditions associated with the festival survive in the Easter rabbit, a symbol of fertility, and in colored easter eggs, originally painted with bright colors to represent the sunlight of spring, and used in Easter-egg rolling contests or given as gifts.

Pagan EggsSuch festivals, and the stories and legends that explain their origin, were common in ancient religions. A Greek legend tells of the return of Persephone, daughter of Demeter, goddess of the earth, from the underworld to the light of day; her return symbolized to the ancient Greeks the resurrection of lif

AMEN!! Easter's origin is a spring "goddess" ???? This kind of comment is written by someone who is either unaware of Jesus, our Saviour, or someone trying to rewrite human history to be politically correct for humanism. Please read your Bible! Easter is the most important CHRISTIAN holiday, because Jesus Christ, slain for our sins by evil men, ROSE from the dead and thereby saved us from our sins! We are His! Easter is a Christian celebration observed for thousands of years!!

Easter's origins come from a mythical goddess?? Can you be serious? As barely a side note, Easter's origins were also credited to Esther from the Bible? This was the best you could do? Check out church attendance (any denomination will do) on Easter Sunday and perhaps you might attribute another one or two lines to the real origin of Easter, Jesus Christ's resurrection. God is still with you.
