What do children love more than creating a homemade craft? Getting to eat it of course! Guide your students in making their very own edible Easter craft.
Items you will need to complete this Easter snack:
- 1 plain cupcake for each student
- Vanilla Icing
- 2 Bags of coconut flakes
- Green food coloring
- 1 large bag of marshmallows
- 1 large bag of mini marshmallows
- Small decorative candies
- Mixing bowl
- 1 box of plastic knives
- 1 stack of paper plates
Follow the steps below to make your Easter snack:
- Have each child cover their desk with a piece of paper or hand out a sheets of newspaper.
- Hand out 1 plain, undecorated cupcake to each student.
- Have your students come up to your desk. Get a volunteer to dump one bag of coconut flakes in to the mixing bowl. Have another student apply some green food coloring and another mix it all together until the flakes turn green.
- Give your student a paper plate with some vanilla icing, green coconut flakes, white coconut flakes, 1 large marshmallow, and 3 small marshmallows on it.
- Allow the students to each pick out two decorative candies for the bunny's eyes and 1 for the nose.
- Instruct your students to use their plastic knives to spread the icing on the cupcake.
- Have them sprinkle on green coconut flakes for the Easter grass.
- Tell your students to roll their big marshmellow around in the rest of the icing and then in to the white coconut flakes.
- Place the bunny's body on the middle of the cupcake.
- Add two little marshmallows up front for feet and one in the back as a tail.
- Use some icing to make the eyes and the nose stick.
- Take some pictures and then allow the children to enjoy their creation.
