Waking up On Easter Morning know that we would have to put our thinking caps on for the Easter Bunny also hid our baskets well. Hunting, and Hunting all through the house, laughing and helping each other while we spotted a basket or two. We were never allowed to eat our Candy or play with our gift until everyone in the house had found their presents from the Clever Easter Bunny!
After all of us kids had helped find one another baskets and presents we were always disappointed because we were made to wait until after the mornings Easter Breakfast to devour our Candy and Play with a gift.
Swapping Candy with one another and fighting over the other gift at the time was frustrating and annoying, but looking back it was all in good fun!
Always in a hurry to get done with our immediate family's morning traditions, for when we were done we got to go and visit our cousins at grandma's house! Ever year Grandma would have the best Easter chocolate bunny for all of us. We so looked forward to it every year. She would also have the best presents for each of us!
While my grandma, mom and aunt made the Easter feast for all of us to enjoy, My sisters, cousins, and I would enjoy each other's company while seeing what trouble we could get into while playing outside!
One year's adventures come to mind so vividly it was like yesterday that it all happened. Being kids and Tomboys through and through, we did all forever love to build forts and hide out in the field across the road from my Grandmother's house.
We ventured over to the field and found a tarp we could use for a roof. So excited we tried to carry it over to the spot we picked out to build. Realizing there was something wrapped in the tarp, we opened it up to discover there was deer hide in it. Being kids we didn't care about germs or smells, or dangers, we just wanted that tarp to build our fort! Little did we know at the time it was covered in kerosene and at the light of a match we would of all caught fire!
Building of fort and playing in it most of the day, we lost track of time and hurried back across the road to enjoy the Easter feast that was prepared. When we got to the house we knew we were in so much trouble by the look on our parents and grandparents faces standing on the porch! They took one look at us, and smelled us and began yelling and lecturing to the point of annoyance!
Needless to say we were not allowed to play over in the field for the rest of the holiday! I will forever and always remember the first real time my sisters, and cousins, and I got into real trouble at Grandma's house!
