This year we decided to go and join the fun of Easter Egg hunting. We woke up early and headed to the park with our babies and their baskets. My three year old was completely excited with the idea of getting eggs filled with candy. However since it was our first time we found out that being 20 seconds late makes a big difference in a city Easter Egg Hunt. Those last seconds that took us to walk from the pavement to the middle of the park made us loose all opportunities we had of getting at least one little egg.

After a minute of just standing there seeing the grass getting clean at an incredible speed and all the eggs disappearing I checked on my son. His face said it all, he knew that all the eggs were gone, but I also notice he was thinking: You better have a plan B mommy!

I didn't have any other plan, I looked for my husband who had our one year old in his arms and we both had the same worry of what to do next. Luckily in the corner of the park we saw a little pink square announcing the Easter Hop Shop from 1 to 3pm. We were saved.

The Easter Hop Shop is a fun family oriented activity for kids all ages and parents too. Many of the stores located in Center Street and University Avenue participate by giving away free candy, Easter eggs, toys and even craft supplies to kids of all ages.

The fun is not only for the kids but also for parents that get to sample delicious food from participating restaurants like bread from the Indian Palace, or get good deals on pizza, jewelry and even frames. It is a safe activity since the candy doesn't come from strangers and everyone gets to find hidden treasures in downtown.

Thanks to the Easter hop shop we found out that there were variety of stores just blocks away from our home. Downtown Provo is full of a big variety of restaurants that offer organic food, good BBQ and all kinds of ethnic food. We also notice a pet shop, theaters, art galleries, an Italian market, and lots more.

As a young parent I find Provo to be the funnest place to raise my kids. I love all the activities that are not only kid friendly but also FREE!. The Easter Hop Shop is now another reason for me to love this tinny family oriented town.
