Easter Poem: He Has Risen as He Said He Woud

He Did the Unexpected and Embraced the World with Love

Artisttia Yarns
They expected a conquering king
They received a preaching pacifist
They expected His reign to be on earth
They didn't expect His reign to be in heaven
They wanted their lot in life to change now
They didn't understand He didn't promise their lot in life would change
They expected prophecies fulfilled how they planned
They received prophecies fulfilled how He planned
They rejected Him because He wasn't what they expected
They were accepted by Him; they were just as He expected
They sent Him to His death on a cross
They sent Him to where on that cross, He stretched out His arms embracing the world with His love

There he said, "It is finished" as He died
He never seemed to do what they expected
He always seemed to do what they least expected
They expected the cross would be the end of him

They never expected He would conquer death
They expected to find a stone in front of the tomb
They never expect an empty tomb, the angel or the risen Christ

There the Angel said, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?
He is not here but has risen as He said"

Hallelujah!
