Easter Reflection

Karen LoBello
Singing "Peter Cottontail", can't wait for the big day
Easter baskets resurrected, filled with colored hay
Carefully dyeing boiled eggs, putting them on display
Buying ham and trimmings, having leftovers to graze

Waking up discovering bunny paw prints on the floor
Searching for our baskets...are they hidden behind the door?
Saving the big chocolate bunny for the end when there's no more
Better brush our teeth a lot, so cavity counts don't soar

Easter bonnets, fancy dresses, little gloves of white
Parading through the neighborhood, an annual Easter sight
Off to church now, and that seems to make us feel just right
New beginnings and spring joy, emotions of delight

Now we're older, we don't want to eat up lots of candy
Found an Easter exercise and this game is just dandy
Ping-pong teams with just one paddle...it's a lot of chuckles
At least we stand a chance now of not loosening up our buckles

Happy Easter!
Annual "Peter Cottontail Open" one paddle ping-pong game
