Egg Basket
Easter eggs and baskets are a great theme for your school board, and you can use large plastic lids, cardboard, magazines, and many other recycled items to create this project. For this bulletin board you will also need paint, a brush, scissors, glue, and butcher paper. Start by covering the board with butcher paper.
Then help kids cut fun colors and images out of the magazine. Help kids cut the plastic lids into egg shapes by using an oval stencil and a marker. You can also explain how to cut an oval to the kids and help them cut it free hand. Then instruct the students on how to glue the images to the Easter egg lids.
While the eggs are being worked on you should start creating the Easter egg basket. Cut a large piece of cardboard into a square or rectangular shape. Then cut another piece of cardboard into a U shape. Make sure the U will reach both of the ends of the basket to make a handle. Attach the basket to the board and help kids add their Easter eggs to the basket when they are complete.
Bunny Faces
Another fun bulletin board idea uses old paper plates, scissors, glue, markers, black pipe cleaners, butcher paper, and printed out images of the student's faces. Start the project, by giving each child 2 paper plates. Help the students cut a 2 inch strip out of the center of one plate. Then help the children cut their faces out of the printed photos. Also cut a small circle and two medium size circles out of the strip you cut from the first plate for the nose.
Let children color the small circle pink or black and place the two medium circles next to each other. Glue the nose in the center to attach the two medium circles together. Then glue pipe cleaners on like whiskers. Attach the photo to the center of the recycled plate. Add the nose and the left over plate pieces as ears. Cover the bulletin board and attach the bunny faces all over.
These bulletin board ideas are great for recycling, and they are perfect for Easter. Try them with your class this holiday season!
