Easy Almond Cookie Recipe

Gwendolyn Taylor
Ingredients Needed:
1 ¼ cup of unbleached flour
½ cup of pure cane sugar
½ cup or 1 stick of butter
1 egg
2 teaspoons of all natural almond extract

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Melt the butter in the microwave for about a minute and mix in the egg. Add the flour and sugar and whisk until all of the flour is no longer visible on the sides and bottom of the mixing bowl. Drop in the two teaspoons of all natural almond extract stir until fully blended. Use your hands to mold the mixture so that it becomes more cohesive. Form half of an inch thick and two inches diameter patties of the dough and place them an inch apart on an ungreased baking pan or cookie sheet. Place them in the oven for about 8 minutes or until the sides are slightly tanned. Take the sheets or pans out and let them cool for about 5 to 10 minutes. The cookies should have a slight crunchy or crispiness to the edge and a softer center. This recipe yields to about a dozen to 18 cookies depending on the size of the cookie dough molds you create.
