Easy Button - A Pet Rock that Talks and Motivates

Staples is on to something with their "Easy Button." After all, who doesn't love pushing buttons? Their marketing campaign centers on the theme that shopping at Staples is easy. The concept spurred the creation of the Easy Button which is featured in commercials and available for purchase at your local Staples store.
Why would you want to buy an Easy Button? While it may irk you to pay for a product that is essentially a commercial, keep in mind that a good portion of the proceeds are donated to the Boys and Girls Club of America. Okay, you're all for a good cause and you've purchased your Easy button. Now what?

You can use your Easy Button a number of ways. The obvious use is as a paperweight. But there's more to the big red button than its sheer heft: it is fully functional. That's right, when you push the Easy Button, it says, "That was easy." Because of this, you can use the button as a reward. Did you finally wade your way through your overflowing in-box? Push the Easy Button and enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done. That was easy!

Your co-workers will get a kick out of your progress and your boss will know when you just completed a task. Imagine pushing the Easy Button after each successful sales call. That was easy. Soon, you'll be looking for the next chance to push the button.

The Easy Button is a terrific motivator on the job and it is even more so at home. Do your kids love pushing buttons? Of course, who doesn't? Enlist the kids' help in doing chores and let them push the Easy Button after each chore is complete. There's no guarantee that your kids will fall for it but it's worth a try. If you're lucky, your kids will be volunteering to help dust or vacuum just to get a chance at pushing the button.

Use the Easy button as part of your child's homework routine. After each assignment is complete, let them push the button. With each exclamation of "That was easy," you will be reinforcing that schoolwork is easy if you apply yourself.

You can even use the Easy Button to motivate toddlers. For example, use the Easy Button as a reward for their potty training success. This only works if the button is reserved only for potty training. If they are allowed to push it whenever they please, it won't work as a motivational tool.

Go ahead, spend a few bucks and get an Easy Button. It's like a pet rock that talks!

Did you know that you can "hack" the Easy Button? Hackers have changed the audio file and some have even sanded off the letters, replacing them with their own words.
