Easy Cajun Style King Cake

The PERFECT Dessert for Your Saints Superbowl or Mardi Gras Celebration

Peggy Fields!
The Saints are FINALLY going to the Super Bowl and it's time to CELEBRATE! What better way to celebrate Superbowl OR Mardi Gras than with a King Cake? It's the tradition, so put on your beads, and get to the kitchen to make this King Cake for your Saintly bunch!

Ingredients:

2 cans of Crescent Dinner Rolls

Green/Purple/Gold Sugar for decorating the top

1 small plastic baby (you can get these from your local crafts store)

Filling:*

8-oz. cream cheese-room temp

1 cup sugar

1 egg

2 tsp. vanilla

(*You can use any canned fruit pie filling if you prefer that over the cream cheese filling.)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray. Open the dinner rolls and place in a circle (see photo 1). Just make sure the edges are touching so the filling doesn't leak out onto the cookie sheet. It doesn't have to be pretty or perfect, because you're going to fold these every which way. Next, blend the cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla until smooth, then spoon onto the dinner rolls. Place the baby somewhere in the filling and fold the flaps of the rolls over to cover the filling. Last, sprinkle generously with green, purple and/or gold sugar. Bake at 350 until browned, about 30 minutes. Slice and serve with Community Coffee and yell, "Go Saints!"

Whomever finds the baby in their piece of cake gets to make the next cake!
