Easy Card Tricks to Learn on Your Own: Psychic Card Reading

Here is an easy card trick that you can learn on your own. This will really impress your friends. My grandfather taught this to me many years ago when I was little. At the time I thought it was incredible. Follow these easy directions to complete this trick. The object is to guess the card your subject has picked using your psychic abilities. As your subject concentrates on the card's color, suite, and number they will send you a psychic message and you will correctly guess the card.

1) Remove the jokers from a normal card deck. Have the subject shuffle the cards any way they desire.

2) Fan out the cards face up to show the subject that there is no particular order to the deck. You can have them reshuffle the cards if they are not happy with the way it looks. If they reshuffle, fan out the cards, face up again.

3) You will memorize what will be the top card when the deck is put into a pile face down. The card you need to memorize is the last card on your left; make sure that it is visible when you fan out the cards. This is an easy card trick as long as you get this part right.

4) Give the deck to the subject. Have them split the deck into three piles, without shuffling or rearranging the deck. Be sure you watch carefully to be sure you do not lose track of the top card. Organize the piles so that the one with the top card is in the center pile. The pile in the center should have the top card of the deck - the one you memorized.

5) Have your subject pick the top card of the center pile. Make sure that they know what it is. Once they are sure that they have memorized the card, have them put it back anywhere in any of the piles. You already know what the card is. It does not matter where they put it.

6) Put the cards back together into one pile. Have your subject shuffle the deck.

7) Here is where the psychic play comes in. Ask your subject to totally concentrate on the color of the card. Wait a couple of seconds and tell them the color. Next, have them give total concentration to the suite of the card. Make sure they are really concentrating hard. Tell them the suite of the card. Finally, ask them to focus on nothing but the number of the card. After a second or two, tell them the number. This is really where you can ham it up so go for it.
