Easy Cheap No-Sew Homemade Gift for Everyone on Your Christmas List

Nikki
You don't have to spend a lot of money to make this gift so it great for anyone who is short on cash. It's quick and easy to make, there is no sewing involved, and the kids can help. It makes a great craft project for kids, church youth groups, or school fundraisers. The end result is a practical thoughtful gift crafted with your own hands. The recipient can enjoy their present for years to come and will think of you each time they use it or see it.

So just what is this gift? It's a no-sew fleece scarf or throw blanket. They make great presents for all age groups. Kids, teachers, friends, family members, and elderly folks in nursing homes ... the possibilities are limitless.

All you need is some fleece fabric and scissors. The fabric can have a fun Christmas or other holiday pattern, or can be a solid color. It doesn't matter, because you don't have to worry about matching pieces or patterns because there is no sewing involved.

All you do it cut your fleece into two pieces to the size of the project you want to make. Obviously, you will cut smaller pieces for a scarf than if you are making a throw blanket. Just make sure both pieces are the same size.

Then lay one piece of the fabric on top of the other and cut in about three or four inches. Continue to cut strips of fringe all the way around the entire outer edges. You can make the strips as wide as you want and as far apart as you want. It's your piece so be creative.

After all the strips are cut, tie each bottom fringe to the top fringe, making a knot to join them together. Be sure the knots are securely tied so the pieces with stay together through machine washes. Continue to do this until all strips are tied together. For added pizzazz, use a quilters knife to curl up the edges of the fringe.

That's all there is to it! You have now created an easy cheap homemade present that can be given to anyone on your gift list.Inexpensive Christmas gift ideaHow to make a no-sew fleece blanket or scarfHoliday craft

You know, I know exactly what this is, and the title caught my eye because I cant sew for nuts. My sister in law made one for her new grandbaby for Christmas and I was thinking how superb it was. Little did I know she doesnt sew any better than I do lol. Thanks for this, she wasnt sharing her secret!

I'm a little late in commenting, but I LOVE this idea. I'm saving these instructions for gift-giving occassions. I'm not into sewing, and this sounds like my kind of project. Thanks!
