How to Make Delicious Homemade Chicken Soup

Nothing tastes better than a home-cooked meal. Just the thought of chicken soup on a cold winter's day can make a person warm! The smell of the chicken and vegetables and noodles all cooking together is heavenly. If you are looking for a delicious meal to make, this chicken soup recipe is easy to make and quick to the dinner table.

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon butter

1 cup chopped carrot

1 cup chopped onion

2 potatoes, diced

1 tablespoon all purpose flour

5 cups chicken broth

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

2 cup boned, skinned, cubed chicken breasts

1 cup noodles (your choice type of noodles)

dash of parsley

Melt butter in large saucepan or Dutch oven. Add carrots, onions, and potatoes and cook and stir for 3 minutes. Next, stir in the flour. Slowly add the broth, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Bring to a boil, stirring continuously. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Add chicken and noodles. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 more minutes or until chicken is cooked thoroughly and noodles are tender. Stir in parsley. Enjoy!

Note: You can add frozen peas to this recipe at the same time you add the chicken and noodles. It makes for a flavorful, colorful variation.
