Then, there's the mess. And, if you aren't vigilant or set the stove or oven at too high temperatures, you are likely to create burnt smells and smoke throughout your entire house.
If you don't enjoy cooking, there's not much you can do to change that fact. But, you can minimize the mess and make the entire process easier.
Cleaning up afterward is the worst part of cooking. This is a lot easier if you clean as you go. Rinse your dirty dishes and place them in the dishwasher. Wipe up spills as they occur.
Be patient. Cook your food at lower temperatures to avoid burning it. Burnt meat has been shown to be carcinogenic and vegetables that are only lightly cooked have higher nutritional value, anyway.
Don't make complicated recipes - keep it simple.
One of the easiest, most trouble-free methods of cooking is with a crock pot. Look specifically for crock pot recipes. Oven recipes are usually easier than stove top recipes.
Go for raw foods, like salads and fruit, wherever possible. Raw foods contain more enzymes than cooked foods and they definitely reduce the amount of time you spend cooking.
Cook extra food and store it so that you only have to reheat it later.
These are just a few tips. When it comes to cooking for non-cooks, avoidance of the activity is always best. Another option is to find a friend, boyfriend, girlfriend or spouse who likes to cook!
