Easy and Delicious Breakfast Casserole Recipe
When You're in a Pinch and Need Something Easy, Throw This Together for Guests
Breakfast Casserole
1 1/2 lbs Sausage (cooked & drained)
9 Eggs
3 Cups Milk
1 1/2 Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Mustard
1 Teaspoon Salt
3 Slices Bread (cubed)
Beat the eggs & beat in the milk. Mix the mustard & salt together. Stir in the rest of the ingredients to the egg mixture. Pour into a 7 1/2 x 11 1/2 casserole. Bake for 1 hour at 350* if using a metal pan, or 325* if using a glass pan. Casserole will come out bubbling and golden brown.
For the most part, If I'm doing one batch, I just do two pounds of sausage and omit the salt (since sausage is already salty), because then I don't have a half of a pound left over that I need to use somewhere else or have it go bad in the refrigerator. On Christmas morning, I always make a double batch of this casserole. The left overs are good, even when they are reheated in the microwave! I just put them in a tightly sealed plastic ware and reheat the portion sizes I want to eat at the time. You also don't have to just reserve this for breakfast. It makes a great meal at anytime!
I hope you enjoy this easy and delicious recipe that has been handed down in my family for years! Give it a shot! I know you will love it just as much as my family does! Go ahead, make this meal a new family tradition for you and your family as well!
