Easy and Delicious Kebab Recipe

RDA
Kebab is one of the traditional Turkish foods. Every street in Turkey, you can find a kebab restaurant. Kebab is also very popular in Europe and in the big cities of the U.S. like New York and Los Angeles. Not all kebab shops serve good quality food. Most of them are too commercial and they lack the real soul of the kebab. In the city I live, I can name around 40 kebab restaurants but only one of them have the real taste of kebab. The taste of the kebab depends on the kind of meat you have. Best kebab is made with the meat that has around %30- 40 percent of fat. If you can mince the meat by yourself by using a knife like machete, the kebab will taste delicious. But you can also buy ground meat from big markets. Spices are essential for the kebab. If you are allergic to spices, it is better to eat beef or other kinds of meat. Here is a great kebab recipe.

2 lb minced meat (preferably lamb meat and contains at least %30 percent fat)

2 onions (without skin)

5 cloves of garlic (without skin)

1 tablespoon ground cumin

1 tablespoon of ground red pepper (you can increase the amount of pepper if you want more chilly)

1 cup of olive oil

A pinch of salt

1 pita bread

A cup of yogurt

2 tablespoon tomato paste

1 tablespoon butter

First we put the ground red pepper in the olive oil and wait for an hour. Then chop the onions and garlic cloves into very small pieces. Take a bowl and put all ingredients into that. Knead the mixture for 10 minutes. Put the mixture into fridge and let it stay there for a day. Take out the mixture and make small patties. If you can cook these on a charcoal grill, it will be amazing; but if you don't have one, you can cook them in a pan. Make sure patties are cooked well-done. If you cook on a grill, you can let the fat drip on the pita. It will make the pita taste delicious.

For the sauce, put the butter into a bowl and heat it up till the butter melts. And then add tomato paste and some water. Cook it for 5 minutes.

Put the pita on the plate and then put the cooked patties on the patties. If you want you can put some sauce on that and yogurt as a side. You can also eat without sauce and yogurt. Enjoy it.
