Easy DIY Calla Lily Boutonniere

Single stalk of calla lily

Floral tape

Safety pin

Floral wire

Copper wire

Small amount of cotton

Step One:

Dissect the lily by cutting the stem and bottom-most part away from the bloom and the spathe, or spadix which is the soft yellow shoot in the center of the flower. Separate the petals from the spathe. Insert a 4 or 5 inch length of floral wire through the bottom of the spathe and bend the ends down. Wrap some cotton around the bottom of the spathe and wet it, then wrap the cotton with floral tape.

Step Two:

Step Three:

Wrap the copper wire around the safety pin to secure it to the boutonniere and bring the copper wire down to entwine with the floral wire at the bottom to fashion a stem.
