Easy Facial Scrubs

These are simple, non-expensive facial scrubs that you can use at home. All skin types are different so please use these srcubs according to your skin type.

Cornmeal exfoliating scrub

You should not use this scrub more than two or three times a week. This is a gentle scrub.

2-3 tsp. of cornmeal

Small amount of warm water

Pour the cornmeal into a small, open container and add a little bit of warm water. Stir it together to make a paste.

Splash your face with warm water, if you are using a brush you should get it wet also.

Scoop the scrub onto your finger or brush. Using gentle circular motion rub the scrub over entire face. Don't press hard or pull on your skin. Always avoid your eye area. Rinse your face with warm water and then pat it dry with a soft towel.

You should discard any of the mixture that is unused. If you used a facial brush clean it with warm water and let it air dry.

Oatmeal scrub

Oatmeal works to tone and soften skin. The lemon juice works as an astringent and the yogurt soothes and adds a little moisturizer. Do not use instant oatmeal.

1 Tbsp ground oatmeal

1 tsp lemon juice

2 tsp yogurt

Combine the ingredients in a small, open container.

Splash your face with warm water, if you are using a brush you should get it wet also.

Scoop the scrub onto your finger or brush. Using gentle circular motion rub the scrub over entire face. Don't press hard or pull on your skin. Always avoid your eye area. Rinse your face with warm water and then pat it dry with a soft towel.

Milk and honey exfoliating scrub

Almonds cleanse and exfoliate your skin and the milk and honey moisturize. If you have oily skin use nonfat milk and whole milk/cream if your skin is dry.

1 Tbsp ground almonds

1 tsp honey

1 tsp milk or cream

Combine the ingredients in a small, open container.

Strawberry almond scrub

Strawberries have natural astringent that tighten your pores, and feel your face feeling toned and fresh.

2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp ground almonds

1 ripe strawberry (thawed frozen berries can be used if fresh strawberries are unavailable)

Mix the almonds and baking soda in a small dish.

Slice the strawberry into the dish and mash it all together with a fork (or anything that works) to make a paste.

Splash your face with warm water, if you are using a brush you should get it wet also.

Scoop the scrub onto your finger or brush. Using gentle circular motion rub the scrub over entire face. Don't press hard or pull on your skin. Always avoid your eye area. Rinse your face with warm water and then pat it dry with a soft towel.

Gentle polishing scrub

This is a gentle scrub that works on all skin types and it's gentle enough to use every day. It leaves your skin feeling soft and clean.
