All you need to make the cookies is a box of your favorite flavor of cake mix, oil and eggs. You will need to pre heat your oven to 350 degrees. You start by adding the cake mix to a large bowl, then add in 1/4 cup of oil and 2 eggs. That's it! The mixing process is a little messy, because unlike regular home made cookie dough it gets a bit sticky. You also have to be careful when adding the oil and eggs and make sure that you get the right consistency. The consistency you are looking for should be very similar to that of regular cookie dough. It may take a few times to get it just right. Once you have gotten all the ingredients mixed up, spoon out the dough into silver dollar sized pieces onto the cookie sheet. Place your cookies in the oven for 8 - 10 minutes and boom! You have some fresh made cookies that taste spectacular. Using silver dollar sized amounts for each cookie you can make roughly 50 cookies, almost 3 times as much as buying the pre maid dough and each box of cake mix cost $1 or less!
Now, back when the recipe first was brought to my attention, there were limited kinds of cake mix. Now a days there are so many different flavors of cake mix its hard to tell what you should try. Just think of what you would like in a cookie. You can also add in mixes if you would like. This is something I have started doing recently and I love it. You can use yellow cake mix and add in chocolate chips, you can use white cake mix and add in macadamia nuts and white chocolate chips, you can use strawberry cake mix with walnuts, you can use chocolate cake mix with peanut butter chips. What ever your pleasure you can create some pretty amazing cookies. The time you keep them in the oven may vary by a few minutes when you begin adding in other things.
My favorite thing to do is use the fun-feti cake mix by Pillsbury, once they are out of the oven and have cooled I spread the fun-fetti frosting over the top of the cookies and add sprinkles. Let them stand for about an hour for the frosting to harden a bit and you have the perfect snack for any event. Next time you are in the mood for a sweet treat and have a box of cake mix handy, a few eggs, and some oil, try making yourself and/or your kids a batch of cookies. You will love them.
