Easy to Find Vegan Halloween Candy Options

Katri Marson
It is getting really close to Halloween. You know you need candy to hand out or you risk your house being toilet papered. If you have a vegan household you may feel the dilemma of what Halloween candy can you buy to satisfy the little trick or treaters and still stay true to your values. There is little time left to shop online at one of the trusty vegan shops so your best option is a "normal" mainstream drug, grocery or discount store.

Don't worry there are plenty of "accidentally vegan" options at everyday stores. And don't worry the items on this list are completely vegan and not lax like the candy list PETA has. Everything is also normally available at national chain stores, like Walmart, Walgreens, etc. Although, availability will depend on your local stores.

Re-visiting. Good to know Skittles are "safe" -- I used to love this candy!

If you read the introduction you would have seen the comment that PETA's list is extremely lax. It has many things on it which are not vegan, due to things like carmine coloring (from bugs) and vitamin D that is derived from wool. This list has only items available at nationwide stores, which I have personally seen at several different stores. Although, every area is different. This list also has items not mentioned on the afformentioned list, in addition to it being a list not needing to be weeded through. P.S. Sjaaks has individually wrapped chocolate sold in bulk tubs. So, pretty much anyone who wants to hand out chocolates.
