Tip #1 for Pretty Feet: Use a Ped Egg (under $4).
Ped Egg is an inexpensive egg-shaped gizmo with a stainless steel file that safely shaves away hard calluses from feet. If you have thick calluses, this is a great way to get rid of them quickly. There's no need to soak your feet. Ped Egg is used on dry feet, so it can be done with no planning ahead. Use the emery pads that are included to smooth the areas you've just worked on for a professional look and feel.
Tip #2 for Pretty Feet:Blue Goo Cracked Heel (under $2 only at Walmart)
You don't need to wait for your heels to crack to make use of this fantastic ointment. Emu oil is the magic ingredient that softens feet in just one application. I rub it into my feet before bed and put on a pair of socks. In the morning, my feet are soft and looking like I just had a pedicure.
Tip #3 for Pretty Feet:Udderly sMOOthe Foot Cream (under $6)
During the day it isn't practical to use oily treatments on your feet, but it's important to keep them moisturized. Dry heels look and feel uncomfortable, not to mention what they can do to a pair of stockings. Udderly Smooth was developed for dairy cows but is a great way to smooth the roughness on your feet and keep them soft all day long without feeling greasy.
Tip #4 for Pretty Feet: Wear shoes and socks when you can
Wearing flip flops, sandals, or going barefoot is the fastest way to build calluses and dry the skin on your feet. If you have errands to run or are getting some things done around the house and can give up wearing open shoes, use some Blue Goo Cracked Heel or Udderly Smooth Foot Cream on your feet, slip on some socks and shoes, and get in some extra conditioning time for your feet. This is an especially good idea if you're going out in the evening and want your feet to look and feel their best.
Tip #5 for Pretty Feet: Wiggle your feet and toes in the sand
Not only is it good exercise to have a walk along the wet sand at the beach, but it naturally wears off rough skin from your feet. If you don't want to walk, stand in the wet sand and twist your heels to smooth them and improve circulation at the same time. After you've been to the beach, it's important to rinse off the dry sand and salt as soon as possible and use a moisturizer to keep your feet soft and smooth.
The key to keeping your feet soft, pretty, and looking like you've just had a pedicure, is moisturizing creams and callus removal. Even one week of neglecting your feet can bring back rough heels, so you need to do it as often as possible to avoid calluses and cracked skin. Rub the excess cream or ointment into your hands, elbows and knees for that completely pampered look and feel.

Post a CommentThanks for telling me how to get pretty soft feet! :P
Before Halloween I must do this. Thanks:)
These are good suggestions. I like my feet to look good, but I could quite easily give up wearing shoes and socks. I don't like my feet to feel constrained, especially around the house.

I've been wondering about that Ped-Egg. My feet are quite good, but I did a lot of walking recently in sandals and yep, got calluses on my heels!
Those darn ole flip-flops are my downfall. I have them on right now. Thanks for the info.
Great suggestions. :-)
