So, you have decided to make green beer for your St. Patrick's Day party. This is a pretty simple green beer recipe, but the following tips will help you to make the perfect festive brew.

The first thing you want to consider is beer cost. If you are hosting a small party you might want to spend a little more on beer. If you are hosting a raging St. Patrick's Day beer bash, then go with the cheap stuff. Either way, you do not want to buy the pricier and more flavorful microbrews.

Also, cans are usually cheaper than bottles, so go this route, as you will be emptying the beer from the container. From my experience, a light beer is the best choice, but you could do a regular beer.

Consider the following for smaller parties:
Bud Light
Coors Light
Miller Light
Budweiser
Coors
Miller Genuine Draft
For large parties, go with one of these:
Keystone Light
Busch Light
Old Milwaukee Light
Natural Light

Once you have selected a beer, you will need the magic ingredient: green food coloring. Pour the beer into pitchers, and mix in the food coloring. Presto, you have St. Patrick's Day green beer! Serve in clear plastic cups so everyone can enjoy the visual effect as well as the smooth beer taste.

Happy St. Patty's Day!
