These are great ideas anyone can do.
My particular favorite eco-friendly energy saving method is passive solar. It can be implemented very inexpensively by simply opening the blinds or curtains on a south-facing window in winter, placing eaves over south and west-facing windows in summer and planting deciduous trees on the west and south sides of the house.
