Wood Christmas Decorating Project 1: Wooden Clothespin Doll Nativity Scene
For this easy project, you will need:
1) yarn
2) scrap fabric
3) large wooden clothespins
4) craft paint
5)fabric glue

The knob at the top of the wooden clothespin can serve as the head. Paint the head with skin tone colors (ex. brown, peach, etc.). Decide what color you want to use for the underclothes. Paint the rest of the clothespin this color. Using fabric scraps, create easy robes by gluing scraps of fabric around the clothespin. Use a thin brush to paint facial features. Use glue fabrics and yarn for hair. Extra yarn can be use for belts and holding headpieces in place. You can see an example of a clothespin doll nativity scene at the Rogers Place Blog.

Wood Christmas Decorating Project 3: Paint Your Own Wooden Ornaments
For an extremely simple wooden Christmas ornament project, visit your local craft store or even department store. In the craft section you will find a broad array of pre-cut wooden shapes like Christmas trees, Christmas wreaths, candy canes, snowmen, and other Christmas decorations. Using craft paint and little extras like red and green ribbon and jingle bells, you can create your own fun wooden Christmas ornaments with your kids.

Wood Christmas Decorating Project 4: Wooden Wreath Photo Frame
For this wooden Christmas decorating project, you will need:
1) Photos of the family
2) Small to medium sized wooden pre-cut wreaths with a large center hole
3) Craft paint in Christmas colors
4) Ribbon, string, mini jingle bells, colorful pipe cleaners
5) School glue and a glue gun w/glue sticks

Use the paints and extra materials to decorate the Christmas wreaths. Using the school glue, glue the photos to the Christmas wreaths, being sure that the hole reveals the photo well. Use a glue gun to attach pipe cleaners or string for hanging the ornament from the tree.

You can purchase wooden doorknobs or balls from your local hardware store or craft store. Paint them white. Use the glue gun to attach the balls together. Paint details like eyes and a carrot nose.
