Easy & Healthy Breakfast Choices for Kids

For most families with kids, mornings are hectic enough without trying to prepare a labor intensive breakfast for everyone. For many families, the idea of cooking in the morning is out of the question. Still, you want to send your kids out to face their day with sufficient nutrition. Additionally, a lot of parents don't want to resort to rushing their kids through an inferior breakfast of Froot Loops or Pop Tarts. A healthy kid's breakfast doesn't have to be complicated or inconvenient. If you need easy and healthy breakfast choices for the kids in your life, consider the following suggestions.

Yogurt - Yogurt is awesome for kids on so many levels. It's full of protein, vitamins, and is good for digestion. It also comes in dozens of flavors, so there's bound to be a flavor or two that any kid will like. Plus yogurt is cheap! Best of all, yogurt is one of the most easy and versatile breakfast choices for kids available. It can be eaten with a spoon in the car, as a drink while waiting for the school bus, or as a frozen treat while walking to school. Need yogurt on a chilly morning, or for a kid who doesn't like the texture? Easy, just throw them a box of yogurt-covered raisins!

Granola - A fantastic compliment to yogurt, granola is another easy and healthy breakfast choice for kids. Whether you buy chewy granola bars, or granola in bulk with dried fruit mixed in, it's a great choice when you need to quickly put together a healthy breakfast for your kids.

Fresh Fruit - Fresh fruit is a great part of a healthy breakfast, and even picky eaters usually have at least one or two fruits that they enjoy. Fruit is an easy breakfast choice for kids because it requires little to no preparation.. Bananas, apples, oranges, and essentially any other fruit that you have on hand will fill your kid with vitamins and energy. Super foods such as blueberries will give them a brain boost for school, too!

That's not all - If you have a little bit of time to spend preparing breakfast for your kids in the morning, consider choices like oatmeal or eggs that you hard-boiled the night before. Additionally, items like cereal bars can serve as a healthy breakfast choice for kids in a hurry, especially when paired with a yogurt drink. So just because your family is in a hurry in the morning, doesn't mean that your kids can't still have a healthy breakfast that is easy for you to prepare.
