Easy and Healthy Diet Tips

Discovering Easy Little Decisions About Dieting that Lead to Big Results

R

Sick of going through diet after diet with no results? With all of these crazy fad diets out today, picking one will certainly be the easiest part of the process. Of course a diet that only lets you drink water and eat lettuce will make you lose weight, but lets face it, who wants to worry about what they can and can't eat for the rest of their lives? The answer to dieting success may be easily be found by just listening to Dr. Common Sense.

First I'll start with easiest and most obvious way to cut back on calories. When thirst strikes, which it inevitably will, there is no reason to reach for any drink aside from water. If I've seen one, I've seen a million over weight people chugging down soda when they get thirsty like it's nothing. If you're trying to lose weight what is the point of drinking 27 grams of sugar while consuming 100 calories(equivalent to one can of soda) when water has 0 of each. Diets are much easier to follow when the little things are cut out first. If you are trying to lose weight and are still drinking soda (even if it's diet) you're fighting a battle you're never going to win.

Second, if you think "but I am eating healthy and I'm still not losing weight" I think it's time to take a closer examination of what you're REALLY eating. Sure carrots are good for you but if you can't eat them without eating a whole cup full of ranch dressing with them, then you're probably doing more harm than good. The same idea applies to salads, of course they sound healthy, one might even drop the infamous "I'm on a diet I'm just going to have a salad" line, but as soon as you pour dressing all over it you might as well be eating a Big Mac with all of the grams of fat you're consuming. There are many fat free or light salad dressings on the market to chose from, but even if you are using one of these, be aware of how much you're putting on your salad while considering how much you REALLY need for it to taste good. Another mistake dieters commonly make is thinking something is healthy just because it's made with "real fruit." If you want real fruit then just eat the fruit itself. Fruit snacks, even if they are made with real fruit are in no way healthier or are going to make you lose weight more than just eating fruit. Fruit "drinks" like Juicy Juice, Sunny Delight, etc. Are no match in health value to actual fruit juice such as apple juice or orange juice. The decision to pick orange juice over Sunny Delight may seem obvious, but many labels are misleading, making you think the drink is much better for you than it actually is.

The third and final easy way to lose pounds is by EXERCISING. No matter what you've heard, or what anyone has told you there is no possible way you are going to lose weight and keep it off if you don't exercise. When you start eating less your metabolism will just slow down to adjust to the amount of calories you're consuming. If you aren't exercising, as soon as you start eating more you will gain weight back, maybe even more weight than you had to start with. If you don't understand this concept or think you can have a successful diet without exercising, then you might as well not even diet in the first place because your results aren't going to be what you are hoping for.

With these 3 easy steps in mind, there is no diet you shouldn't be able to conquer. A diet shouldn't just be something that makes you temporarily lose weight, it should be a lifestyle choice. If you make smart decisions about what you're eating, you will never have to worry about actually being able to stick to your diet ever again.
