Easy Home Remedies

Amy Gayle
I am someone that is always looking for remedies that I can make at home. I don't like to fill my children up with all kinds of medicines if I don't have to, and sometimes, you just need something at home to ease the pain till you can get to a doctor! I hope you find some helpful hints here!

-Mosquito bite? My family always used roll on deodorant to help get rid of the itch. It worked for me! Just roll it over the bite and leave it to dry.

-Cradle cap? My daughter's pediatrician said to use dandruff shampoo to help get rid of the cradle cap. It worked like a dream. Just be careful to keep it out of the baby's eyes. I also used baby oil on her head, then used a fine tooth comb to get it out.

-Morning sickness? For me, I kept peppermints in my purse and all over my house. The second I had a peppermint in my mouth, I was fine!

-Cat like to pee on your carpet? Put tin foil on the floor where they tend to go after it has been cleaned well. The cat hates the sound of tin foil when they step on it.

-Ear infection? A few drops of warm sweet oil or warm garlic oil will ease the pain immediately.

-Quick toy for your cat. Take foil and crunch into ball. Flick it around on the floor. Cats love it. Another thing I found that my cat LOVES is milk rings! Will play with them for hours!

-Flea problems? Vacuum everyday, but make sure you throw a flea collar in the bag and spray a bug killer in it after each use.

-Breast soreness from nursing? Use Bag Balm on your breasts after each feeding. Make sure you wipe them off well before you feed again.

-Lower pain from childbirth? Take a baby's diaper, cut open one end of it and fill it with crushed ice. Seal up the end of the diaper and place it in your panties. The diaper absorbs the melting ice and it is the BEST relief you could ask for if you tore or had an episiotomy.

-Wanna start labor? This worked for me...I took Evening Primrose Oil. It's a caplet you can get from a health food store. I used it orally and vaginally. Contractions started immediately, but active labor didn't start for a couple days.

I could go on and on, but I'll leave my other things for another article! Hope you find some of these facts helpful!
