There is nothing like a good old fashioned home remedy to fix what ales you. You can purchase over the counter fixes from the super market that make a claim to treat your problems, but many times you just need to open you very own kitchen cupboard. A lot of easy cures can be used effectively by just going back to basics.

Have you ever experienced indigestion? Most people will experience indigestion at one time or another during their lives because it just goes with the territory of being human. Some suggestions for not getting indigestion in the first place is to avoid hot spicy foods, foods fried in a lot of fat and just plain eating your food to fast.

You may think something is seriously wrong with you when you experience bloating, your stomach burns and you are miserable, but it probably is indigestion. Try some of these good old fashioned remedies such as drinking a ginger tea after the meal that has caused the indigestion. Bananas can help to remove your stomach irritation because they act as a natural antacid. And you can put two teaspoons of cider vinegar in a glass of water before consuming the food that you believe will bring on the indigestion.

Sometimes people get a little bit of nasty dandruff and who wants to put up with that. Cure your dandruff by making a tea using burdock or sage and applying to your clean hair after shampooing. Another far out cure for dandruff is to rinse you hair in Listerine mouthwash. However don't use this product if your scalp is bleeding.

Another cure for dandruff is to mix one part vinegar and three parts water and apply it to your scalp. Leave this on over night and shampoo the next day. Why not try an egg cure for dandruff? Mix two egg whites with the juice of a whole lime. This becomes a paste that can be applied to your scalp. You leave it on your scalp for about 30 minutes and then shampoo it out.

If you have bouts of diarrhea, you are in luck because there are plenty of good old fashioned remedies that you probably have on hand at home. Try squeezing a lemon into a glass of water and drink this about four to five times a day. If you like wine you can drink 6-ounces of white or red wine.

Another effective treatment for diarrhea is buttermilk. Buttermilk contains an acid that fights bacteria and germs. Here is another treatment that is effective and pleasing to the taste. A little dab of mint juice in three dosages a day, mixed with one teaspoon of honey and lime juice will fix you up just right.

You can treat bites and stings easily by rubbing the inside of a banana peel over the affected area. If there is a stinger be sure to remove it with some tweezers first. Another method for treating stings is making a paste of MSG which is Monosodium glutamate and is also called Accent. It will draw out the poison almost immediately. Leave the paste on till it dries and then just brush it off. Do not use MSG if you think you could possibly be allergic to it as many people are.

There are several good old fashioned remedies that can be used to treat burns. First off rinse the affected area with some cool water. Tooth paste will be found in all households and is very effective at removing the pain. You can apply egg whites to the area and place a bandage around it.

Mustard has been used as a cure to remove the pain and stop it from blistering, but it does sting a little bit. It is a good idea to keep a small aloe vera plant in your home for treating burns. Just slice off a small portion of the leaves and apply it to the burn. This does a good job of removing the redness and pain.

Good old fashioned remedies can be found through out your home and they are generally very inexpensive and what is so good about many of them are that you already have them on hand right when you need some relief.
